Built in 1936 this facility was owned and operated by the National Guard. The armory, which was given to the Town in 1988, where it had many lives, including a skating rink and a community theater, will become a hospitality training facility with Virginia State University, Virginia Union University, and other partners. This multi-purpose facility will offer workforce training programs to the community, who will be able to use the facility to host parties, proms, banquets, etc. through hospitality management staff. The rehabilitation includes all new electrical, mechanical, plumbing, roof, windows, and an elevator.
